2019 why is the China western silk exposition held in Nanchong? Tracing back to history, it is inseparable from Nanchong's long standing silk culture.


"The sky is sampled and weaves all over the city." On the earth of Nanchong, the sound of silk road has lasted for more than 5000 years, and the legend of Fuxi silkworm and Silverless silkworm originated in Nanchong. This is not only the source of the Southern Silk Road, but also an important source of land for the Northern Silk Road. It has a unique position and role in the development history of China's silk industry.


In the pre Qin and Han Dynasties, Nanchong began planting mulberry silkworms on the edge of the Jialing River. During the Tang Dynasty, Langzhong and Huzhou were the two largest silkworm centers in the country. The silk products of Langzhong were designated as tribute to the court, and a silk produced by Nanchong, which was 15 feet long and weighed less than a Jin. This technology has reached a rare height at that time. From then on, Nanchong silk basically represents the highest standard of Chinese silk.


In 1910, Nanchong set up Jiqing silk factory (later Nanchong third silk factory), and put it into operation in 1912, and its silk is comparable with Suzhou and Hangzhou silk. In the same year, Xing long silk factory (formerly Sichuan second reeling factory, now the predecessor of Nanchong Liuhe group) was founded in Gaoping capital dam.


In 1915 and 1925, Nanchong silk was awarded the gold medal of Panama International (International) exposition two times, and its products sell well in more than 30 countries and regions.


From 1990 to 1993, Nanchong held four silk festivals consecutively. In August 25, 1990, on the opening ceremony of the first silk festival in Nanchong, silk garments were designed and made by enterprises. About 1200 fashion teams took to the streets to carry out performances. The diversified silk products attracted many exhibitors and many people to watch, with a turnover of about 1000000000 yuan.


After the founding of new China, Nanchong has been one of China's four largest cocoon and silk production and export bases, and is the largest silk industry center in Sichuan. Silkworms and silks in Langzhong, Nanchong, have developed rapidly. The quality of silkworm silk has ranked first in the country in 1983. The products are sold to more than 40 countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, Canada, the Soviet Union, Western Europe, Switzerland, West Germany, Africa and Southeast Asia.


In the 80s and 90s of last century, Nanchong silk was in its prime. The largest industry in the city is silk textile enterprises, and the largest industrial workers are in silk textile enterprises.


Since 2004, Nanchong silk has been awarded the title and honor of "China silk capital", "silk source point", "hometown of Chinese mulberry tea", "protection of national geographic indications products", "silk textile and products" national transformation and upgrading of foreign trade professional demonstration base, all of which have become a card for Nanchong's external image.


Nanchong silk has shown its vitality in the new era. In 2016, Nanchong decided to implement the "155 development strategy" and take the silk spinning and garment industry as one of the five pillar industries to promote Nanchong's economic development. It is reported that with the theme of "new era, New Silk Road and new future", the Expo will continue for six days. There will be more than 600 domestic and foreign practitioners and purchasers. The average audience can visit 50 thousand ~10 people. The head of the Propaganda Department of the Nanchong Municipal Committee introduced that since then, the Western China silk Expo has been held every 2 years.


The total exhibition area of the Silk Fair is about 10 thousand square meters. The theme exhibition consists of five major exhibition pavilions, namely silk spinning, silk cultural tourism, regional cooperation, silk road cooperation and local characteristics. The exhibition hall is fully integrated into the two elements of "silk" and "Jialing River", reflecting the elegance of silk and the spirit of the Jialing River.


It is understood that the silk Expo will register 205 exhibitors, of which 117 are foreign enterprises. Among the enterprises participating in the exhibition, 80 of the top 100 silk spinning enterprises in the country are distributed throughout the country, so the quality of the exhibition is high. Tang Lin, President of the China Silk Association, said that the biggest highlight of the Expo was the gathering of the best and most technologically advanced silk related enterprises in the country and providing space for communication. "This is of great significance for the development of the silk industry in the West."

The cheongsam of Sichuan Shuncheng Textile Co., Ltd. has attracted many people's attention. According to Zhang Hongwei, deputy general manager of Sichuan Shuncheng Textile Co., Ltd., Shu painting is known as the "Sichuan silk". On the basis of drawing on traditional silk painting skills, Shuncheng has developed and developed the silk painting technique of Shu painting, and the "Shu painted silk process" with its own intellectual property has been granted patent by the state.


"Shu painted silk handkerchiefs have been soaked for a long time. The pictorial designs on handkerchiefs are still as bright as new and never fade, which is the magic of Shun Shu painting." Zhang Hongwei said that Shun Cheng used special formula dyes and chemicals to create patterns on silk fabrics. Through constant pressure hanging and steaming technology, the painting technology of rinsing and finishing was able to deduce the ancient Silk Art of Shu painting. The product has the characteristics of "form, color, elegance and rhyme". The hand-made silk Pak cheongsam is a combination of silk culture and regional characteristics of Nanchong scenery, showing the unique flavor of Nanchong cheongsam.


Shun Cheng textile will focus on silk spinning garments, while Nanchong Yinhai silk Co., Ltd. focuses on the production of silk quilts.


As one of the drafting / revising units of the national standard of "silk cotton" and the industrial standard of silk quilt, Nanchong Yinhai silk Co., Ltd. has the processing capacity of 300 thousand silk quilts per year. It is the largest silk manufacturing enterprise in Sichuan province. Its product sales market spreads all over the province and radiates to the southwest of China. It has been exported to the United States, Japan, South Korea, South Africa and Hongkong, Macao and other places in China. "Our silk products are loved by consumers, and the monthly sales revenue of TV shopping channels is almost one million." On the basis of the original production and trade, Liuhe combined with the style of the 100 year factory site to further develop industrial tourism, is known as "the industrial living fossil of the silk industry". A large number of silk spinning enterprises like Shun Cheng, Yinhai, Liuhe and Igor are rising in Nanchong, providing solid foundation resources for Nanchong to build a famous Chinese silk culture city.


As the five largest billion industrial cluster in Nanchong, the ancient Nanchong silk continues to be brilliant. In 2018, the total output value of the silk garment industry reached 45 billion yuan, 24 new silk spinning clothing stores, 500 million yuan of silk and garment exports, 75 of the products exported, 17 of which were exported to tens of millions of yuan. In Gaoping, Beijing has built 10 square kilometers silk culture industry park and silk featured Town, and built the largest silk garment production and processing base in China, China's largest silkworm production base, the largest silk engineering technology R & D center in the west, and the largest silk collection and logistics center in the West.
