A few days ago, I learned from the national clothing Standardization Technical Committee that since January 1, 2010, the 10 national standards of clothing, such as men's suits, overcoats, women's suits, overcoats, western trousers and neckties, have been formally implemented.

Many of the standards in the new GB are the first to make clear requirements for pH, decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes and formaldehyde, which not only meet the requirements of safety performance more than before, but also play a positive role in promoting and protecting China's clothing trade.

It is understood that 6 of the 10 GB standards are newly formulated standards and 4 are revised standards.

Among them, "clothing rainproof performance requirements", "coating clothing moisture resistance technical requirements", "requirements and testing methods for antistatic performance of work clothes", "woven hot-melt adhesive lining" and "woven student clothes" are released for the first time, which will play a normative and guiding role in the production practice of their respective products.

The technical content of necktie has been revised and upgraded from the industry standard to the national standard, so as to further standardize the tie market in China.

As a revised standard, men's suits, overcoats, women's suits, overcoats, and western trousers have all added new requirements for pH, decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes or formaldehyde and odor.

The new national standard of "trousers" not only modified the standard name, added pH value, decomposed carcinogenic aromatic amine dye, odor and other regulations, but also revised the technical requirements of chromatic aberration, appearance defects and sewing, and increased the requirements of color fastness, such as soaping, water resistance, sweat resistance, moisture resistance, light fastness, size change rate of washing, washing rate, tear strength and tear strength.

After upgrading from the industry standard to the national standard, the national standard of tie is more concerned about the health of products, and the mandatory assessment requirements for the formaldehyde content, pH value, odor and decomposable aromatic amine dye in the necktie products are increased.

The national standard also emphasizes that the specifications of necktie products must be marked in centimeters, so that buyers can clearly understand the size of the necktie they bought.

It is understood that according to the national standard "national textile products basic safety technical specifications" requirements, clothing is divided into three categories: A, B and C. Class A is for infants and young children, B is for direct contact with skin, C is for non direct contact with skin, formaldehyde content of three kinds of products is not higher than 20mg/Kg, 75mg/Kg and 300 mg/Kg, pH value is 4 ~ 7.5, 4 ~ 7.5 and 4 ~ 9, can not have peculiar smell.

According to professionals, the pH value of normal skin is acidic, about 4.5 to 6.5.
