Er Customs Levying 10% Import Tax On Footwear

   Recently, Ecuador issued an official announcement that it decided to lower tariffs on imports of footwear and textiles and began to implement them from May 28, 2010. It is understood that since October 2007, the Ecuador customs has imposed an import duty rate of 30% on footwear, textiles and two categories of products. Since January 2009, the special duty has been added on this basis, and the shoes have been added to US $10 per pair, and the textile products have been charged 12 US dollars per kilogram.


Since June 2010, the Customs has imposed a 10% import duty on footwear and a tariff of 6 dollars for each pair of shoes. It has imposed a 10% import tax on textiles and a 5.5 dollar duty per kilogram.
