Standard For Samples Of Fiber And Fiber Products Odor

Many people smell smell when buying clothes and bedding, and many textile and floc products.

National standard

There are also requirements for odor detection items, but there are no specific testing methods to detect odor items.

The national standard for the determination of odor of wadding fiber products has been filled in this field.

It is understood that our country's

mandatory

The national standard "basic technical specification for national textile products", "general technical requirements for fibrous products for flocculation" and "technical requirements for ecological textiles" all require odor detection, including mouldy flavor, high boiling oil smell (gasoline, kerosene, diesel flavor, etc.), fishy smell, aromatic hydrocarbon flavor, unwashed animal fiber smell, smell of smell and so on.

For the smell, this important technical index reflecting the quality of fiber and fiber products is tested by the method of artificial sensory examination.

In such subjective tests, the correct understanding, familiarity, mastery of inspection methods and individual factors will have a greater impact on the test results.

Although training requirements for inspectors are required in the standard,

Odor test

In China, the experience is not long enough, and the experience of inspectors is relatively inadequate.

What is the flavor of standard mildew and fishy smell? The standard sample of fiber and fiber products odors released in February 2009 is the national standard of standard "odor" samples.

The inspector sniffed the standard samples, and then checked the samples tested according to the relevant requirements.

Of course, it is not necessary to smell the standard samples for each test, but it is necessary to calibrate the olfaction using standard samples as required.

According to Feng Ping, director of technical management department of China Fiber Inspection Bureau, under normal circumstances, textile fibers will have some inherent smell of fibers.

In the process of production and processing, floc fiber products will produce residues of chemical substances. These residues will gradually volatilize or oxidize and decompose during the use of textile products, which will produce special odors. When the fiber products are contaminated by microorganisms, the propagation of microorganisms and the decomposition of microorganisms on fibers and residual organic matters will also produce odors.

Some odors to a certain extent will have adverse effects on human health. Therefore, both domestic and foreign textile product standards require testing requirements for peculiar smell.

With the increasing use of the standard samples of fiber and fiber products, the China Fiber Inspection Bureau has completed the national standard for the determination of the peculiar smell of floc products with other laboratories, which fills the gap in the detection field.

According to the briefing, the standard is jointly completed by the national fiber quality supervision and inspection center, Guangzhou fiber products testing institute and Chongqing fiber textile inspection institute.

The survey showed that the problem of odor detection was mainly detected in the same laboratory in the same sample, and the results of different personnel were different.

The first reason is that some of the inspectors do not know deeply about the smell, and do not know clearly. Two, the sensitivity of different personnel to odor is different, and the intensity of odor is different. Three, there is no detailed description of the odor detection method, and there are no strict restrictions on the environmental conditions of the detection. The peculiar smell is caused by volatilization of some substances in the fiber and its products into the air, and the degree of volatilization is different at different temperatures, and the severity of odor is different.

According to Zhou Shuo, the standard draftsman and the state fiber quality supervision and inspection center, requirements for laboratory equipment and materials, testing environment, sample preparation and inspection procedures are important prerequisites for sensory inspection accuracy.

In particular, the testing personnel made detailed requests, including physical health, normal smell, no smoking, no alcohol consumption, no cosmetic or skin care products were used on the test day, wash hands before testing and remove mouth odor by rinsing mouth with water.

It also stipulates that 2~3 deep breaths need to be taken into the detection environment, and then wait for 10 seconds to suit the testing environment.

In addition, the requirements for the olfactory calibration of the test personnel were put forward. The test personnel who had been engaged in the project for a long time were required to perform a olfactory calibration once a month. The test personnel should be shortened when the test time was changed or the disease was not detected for a long time.

This standard can be combined with "standard samples of fiber and fiber products odor", which can improve the inspectors' discrimination on the types of odor peculiar to the fiber products, including the textiles, and unify the strength of odor and improve the accuracy of odor detection.
