The European Parliament and the Council of the directive confirm the annex II of 96/73/EC.
Based on the latest findings of the technical working group on textile names and labels, a new fiber was added to the list of fibers for instruction 2008/121/EC.
In order to make the instruction 96/73/EC adapt to this change, it is necessary to make a revision so as to clarify a unified test method for analyzing the consistency of textile and labeling fiber components.
The notification is expected to be approved in July 2011.

The official communiques will take effect 20 days after the release, and the Member States must implement the directive after 1 years.
