Shandong Reap The Mechanization Of Cotton Harvest

On the morning of October 24th, the Shandong Provincial Agricultural Machinery Bureau was held in Zhanhua, Binzhou.

At the scene, Liu Zhanqin, director of the Binzhou Agricultural Machinery Bureau, introduced the construction of the demonstration base for mechanization of cotton harvesting. The cotton picker producers and machine picked cotton experts respectively explained cotton picking.

Secretary Lin Jianhua pointed out that cotton is one of the most important cash crops in Shandong province. It is also an economic crop with large planting area, large scale and high regionalization. Its annual planting area is around 13 million mu, accounting for nearly 30% of the total cash crop planting area in the province, ranking second in the whole country.

At present, cotton seeding, plant protection and other links have basically achieved mechanization, and cotton stalk harvest has also made breakthrough progress. However, as a key production link, cotton harvesting mechanization is still blank, totally relying on manual picking, low harvesting efficiency, high labor intensity and high production cost, seriously affecting the enthusiasm of cotton growers in developing cotton production, restricting the further development of cotton industry, and hindering the comprehensive development and scientific development of Agricultural Mechanization in the whole province.

This year, the provincial government issued the "opinions on promoting agricultural mechanization and good and rapid development of agricultural machinery industry". It required that in 2015, the province made a major breakthrough in the mechanization of key production links such as cotton and other 8 major economic crops.

The provincial agricultural machinery bureau has issued the "opinions on promoting the mechanization of economic crops in the whole province".

Cotton production areas in the whole province have put the development of cotton production mechanization on an important agenda, and set up a mechanized innovation demonstration base for cotton harvesting, and strive to explore ways and means of mechanization of cotton production in the whole process, in order to actively promote cotton production, especially cotton harvest mechanization.

Secretary Lin Jianhua stressed that promoting the mechanization of cotton harvesting is a new strategic move from the whole mechanization of grain crops in Shandong province to speeding up the development of comprehensive mechanization in rural areas. This site will be of pioneering significance.

He asked all levels of agricultural machinery departments in the province to fully understand the importance of speeding up cotton production, especially cotton harvesting mechanization work, in accordance with the requirements of the provincial government's deployment and meeting, and draw lessons from the experience and practice of the province to break through the mechanization of corn harvesting, seize the opportunity and actively take the initiative in pioneering and innovating, and strive to advance the tough battle of mechanization of cotton harvesting, and strive to make breakthroughs in a relatively short period of time.

First, mechanization of cotton harvesting should be the focus of agricultural mechanization innovation.

All cotton producing areas should incorporate cotton harvesting mechanization into the focus of the innovation demonstration project of agricultural mechanization. In consolidating the mechanization level of cotton planting and plant protection, we should focus on breaking through the mechanized harvesting of cotton, establish a cotton harvesting mechanization innovation demonstration base, and explore and summarize the mechanization technology mode, technical line and technical specification of cotton harvesting, carry out the innovation experiment and demonstration of machine tools, so as to promote the accumulation of experience and create conditions on a large scale.

Two, we should speed up the introduction of R & D, production, demonstration and popularization of cotton picking machinery.

At all levels, efforts should be made to introduce, research, produce, and promote the cotton picking machines.

In view of the current lack of cotton harvester, we should actively organize and coordinate agricultural research, production and extension units, adhere to the combination of independent innovation and digestion and absorption, increase joint research efforts, accelerate the pace of R & D and production of cotton pickers, increase the intensity of popularization, and select the main push type with good applicability, high efficiency, reliable quality, moderate price and farmers' welcome as soon as possible.

Priority should be given to cotton harvesting machinery, priority demonstration, priority promotion, priority subsidies, and continuous improvement of the level of machinery and equipment for cotton production.

Three, we must do a good job in the combination of machinery and technology, and promote the mechanization of cotton harvesting.

According to the needs of mechanized cotton picking, the traditional cotton production technology has been pformed so that all kinds of agronomic techniques such as cotton variety selection, seeding specification, field management and picking and cleaning should be adapted to the requirements of mechanized production.

The cotton production area should establish a coordination system for combining agricultural machinery and agronomy, unite agriculture and other relevant departments, organize agricultural machinery and agronomy experts, especially cotton production technicians, formulate scientific and reasonable cotton mechanization operation standards and agronomic technical standards, vigorously carry out cotton production mechanization and agronomy technology training, and form a complete mechanized agricultural production technology system and operation specification for cotton production mechanization.

Four, we must do a good job in carrying out the work.

All cotton producing areas should regard cotton as an economic crop with a major breakthrough in mechanization, strengthen organization and leadership, formulate development goals and annual plans, decompose tasks to counties and districts, refine them to specific units and personnel, grasp the first level, implement them at all levels, and see new breakthroughs and new achievements.
