On August 1, it was reported that some volunteers who participated in the performance of the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games were selling the clothing prop. Some items are priced as high as 5000 pounds.

After the opening ceremony of the London Olympic Games, the London Olympic Organizing Committee will distribute some props to volunteers for commemoration. The London Olympic Organizing Committee said that this approach was appropriate and natural.

The items sold by the volunteers through the Internet auction website include a book read by Rowling, the author of Harry Potter, at the opening ceremony, a program list, and even the confetti flying in the sky when the British team entered the stadium. Earlier this week, the clothing of Freddie Mercury, a famous British singer, had been auctioned for 5000 pounds. An "industrial revolution" dress was sold for 2500 pounds, and a male nurse's dress was sold for more than 2000 pounds. In addition, a luminous colored dress for the 1990s performance was offered for 1500 pounds, and a David Bowie dress was offered for 600 pounds.

Some volunteers who participated in the Olympic opening ceremony performance regretted that their partners decided to sell costumes and props. They described such practices as low style and not in line with the spirit of the opening ceremony performance. But a volunteer named Donna argued that she had offered 5000 pounds to sell her clothes and wanted to use the money to invest in the pastry business. She said that she was sorry to give up the souvenir. She was also inspired by the Olympic spirit, but after all this was over, she was ready to complete her dream.

A spokesman for the London Olympic Organizing Committee said that the props used in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games will be given various uses. He said, "The volunteers have paid so much time, and it is gratifying that the props related to them can fall into the hands of appropriate collectors."
