Bayer Develops Polyurethane Business In India

Recently, a person in charge of Bayer materials technology (BMS) said that the company plans to develop special polyurethane business to adapt to the growth of India Pu market.

It is estimated that the total consumption of polyurethane in India in 2007 is about 140 thousand ~ 145 thousand T, about 10% higher than that of the previous year, and the polyurethane market in India will grow by 10% to 12% in the next 5 years.

Ajay Durrani, head of India polyurethane business in Bayer Material Technology, said that the company developed independently in terms of innovative solutions, and they will share with India customers the technical solutions provided by the more than 20 systems of the company, supported by the global network.

In 2007, Bayer has launched a system enterprise in New Delhi, India. Durrani said, "northern India is the main consumer area of polyurethane, so we need to invest in this area to get close to customers."

However, Bayer currently has no plans to build second systems businesses in India.

In India, Bayer provides polyurethane products and raw materials for automotive, equipment, construction and footwear industries.
