The higher the clothing score, the higher the price. This will stimulate cotton farmers to be more willing to choose varieties with high yield and high lint percentage. High quality varieties are not selected because of their low lint percentage and low yield.

Sun Jie suggested that on the basis of high quality and good price of cotton, the cotton ginning plant centered "one plant, one kind" and cotton ginning system of different varieties should be carried out.

"The ginning capacity of a ginning plant covers about 50000 mu. If only one variety is planted in the area covered by the ginning plant, and only one or more varieties can be rolled by the ginning plant, the problem of poor consistency of lint cotton caused by mixed ginning of different varieties can be overcome to the greatest extent."
